CS:GO SDK | Areaportal not working properly
I have a hangar in my map, it has a cat walk with a vent and two windows and under that 2 garage doors. Also the whole roof is open so you can throw grenades in above that hole there is a ...sky...glass... thing.

Now my problem is that I put in every door, window... a area portal, also in the opening in the roof, but when I load ingame he is deleting the skyglass though you can see it.
I tried to cut the areaportal of with something else so i wont show the error that its not closed but nothing works, I HAVE TO use an areaportal, but its not working and I cant delete all areportals, because this room is the most cpu-expensive.
What the ... should I do ?

Have you areaportal leaks in your compile log? Paste here your log. Probably your areportals are not properly built, and you see the "endless mirrors" sky effect in your hole in the roof. Did you set that areportal "open"? You must set them "closed" ONLY if you can connect them to a door.

There are no leaks and I know what effect you mean, but thats not the case.
I mean that when you have a areaportal, the things behind it will fade out when you dont see them, but in the roof he is hiding them though I CAN see them.
Also an interesting fact is that when you are standing on the catwalk the roof is visible, only when youre standing in the middle of the room this happens.
Can you post somewhere some screenshots showing what you see from the catwalk and from the middle of the room? Are you using areaportals, not areaportal_windows, right?

I´m using normal areaportals.
Very strange... are the metal bars func_detail and the areaportal plane fitting the whole window edge?

The metal bars are func_detail. The areaportal is going a bit over the edge but even when tried to make it perfectly fit, the bug was still there.
Never happend to me, but I don't map for CS:GO. Maybe someone mapping for this game will help you. No errors string in console in game? And no error in compile log?

You could try to turn the metal bars to func_brush (always solid), just to see...

I FIXED IT
The problem was that the areaportal wasnt matching the thickness of the walls it touched on all sides. I added a metal bar around it and now it works! Thanks for the help though, I will mention you in the credits of my map ^^
