Open the vmf. find the spot you want cut/paste in new project. Done
not much different from what I said lol
Run Hammer
Open map 1
Open map 2
Go to map 1
Select the element you want to copy (as solid, as object, as group, as you need)
Edit menu -> Copy (shortcut Ctrl+C)
Go to map 2
Edit menu -> Paste (if you want to get the element where you are) or Paste special (very useful to restore some element from a back up map to the updated one). Setting all 0 you paste on the original coordinates, or you can move and rotate the pasted one.
Paste special apart, are the same things you have to do to copy/paste any file, pic, document working with a PC. Or not?
It was sufficient to take a look at the Hammer menu to answer your question. Or not?
How can you use Hammer without spending 2 minutes to read and learn at least the menu voices?
Sorry if I seemed rude, I'm always happy to help, everyone here can testify. But having spent a lot of time learning the very few things I know about mapping, I just want to make newbies understand that to map you need to know at least the basics.
Copy what you want in map 1, then go to map 2 (by clicking on a window) and paste, or paste special if you want to keep exactly the same coordinates.
