You want a map without lights, and also want high-dynamic lighting that simulates your eyes reaction of going from a dark place to a bright place (or the other way around)
They are total opposites.
You can make a well lit map and have HDR lighting, but it won't look like mat_fullbright.
The thing is, some people thing (idk if its right or wrong) that ldr / non-hdr maps crashes the client when map changes/connect to server. So the idea is, recompile some maps into hdr. There is an old map with mat_fullbright 1 because there is no light, but i need light to compile it in hdr, but then the map doesn't look original.
