Can't build towers in multiplayer
My wife and I really enjoyed Sanctum 1, so we bought Sanctum 2. We tried making a co-op game (which was a real lesson in frustration due to the completely unintuitive way MP games are set up) and once in the game, we found another problem: only one of us could build towers.

I was hosting, so only I could build towers. My wife could, if she so desired, sell my towers, but that's it. She couldn't build anything.

Is this some sort of bug or is this normal gameplay for Sanctum 2? I really hope it's a bug, because only letting one player build towers is a huge oversight and ruins the game for us.

It might sound silly, but your wife did select towers while in character selection, right? If she leaves it blank, she wont have any towers.

I have hosted numerous times and that never happened in my game (nor did i encoutered this while i was joining).

Neither my wife nor I ever got a chance to select a character. It just dropped us in the game together.

That's not the way it's supposed to work.

After selecting a map, the comic should appear. After that, you should be at a character select screen. At that time, each player can choose which character to play as, their weapons, and their towers.

If you're not getting that sequence of events, something is wrong.

Are you able to choose a character when playing single-player?

This is probably because you're only on the intro. You don't get to choose stuff for the intro, you just get dropped in, but afterwards it's what everyone is saying.

Do also note the block and tower limits introduced in Sanctum 2.

You have a good point. I'd forgotten about that.

Okay, that must be the problem then. My wife and I didn't bother competing the intro, we just wanted to jump right into co-op, like we could with Sanctum 1.

Thanks for the help, guys! :)
