game wont start up

ı got the game couple days ago and when ı try to run the game ı get that message it doesnt even try to open just an error

SteamStartup() failed: SteamAPI_Init_Internal failed

ı have windows 8 64 bit installed ı thought maybe you guys can help me out

Participate on steam beta still, for this game? If so, must be related to the game content conversion in early 2013. But then i wonder why it's still called beta ...

My Steam is participating since... two years....

game doesnt work for me either. I'M using w7 x64. I have steam beta participation as well. I dont experience any problem with many other steam games.

Game starts up fine here. Just tested. Windows 7 x64.

Win8.0 x64 laptop here, game works fine as well, not using any kind of beta participation though.
