I'm running this on win 8.1 and can run it without problems (start it up, I mean), but sometimes it crashes on me during gameplay.
Edit: Found this link in another thread, Try searching for a solution there> http://www.blindnero.com/forums/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=2
All I had to do was to go the game's folder, find mm.exe, and activate the compatibity "run as administrator". If you did it well, Windows should ask you to give permission to the game to run as administrator, and it will load normally.
I hope this helps :). (Also W7 x64 here)
The original DVD version requires manual patching with v1.01 and v1.02. After that, the DVD is total awesome (this is equally valid for Windows XP; 7; 8.1, both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions).
If you experience differently, the issue is with your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC / laptop or user error. Just ask for help, instead of spreading nonsense.
The game plays nicely on my win 8.1 OS but the general lack of optimization doesn't really make it a favorite of mine, despite the brilliant stealth and combat system. I love this game. Just wish the team behind it would try and fix these annoyances (that's prolly misspelled, sorry).
First, the game gave out an error about binkw32.dll being in the Windows directory instead of the game's directory. So I put it in the game's folder.
After that, trying to run the game does absolutely nothing. I just see the hourglass next to my cursor for a short moment, and then nothing. When I check in the Task Manager, it doesn't even seem to be listed among the programs running. I tried the "run as administrator" option, but it didn't do anything.
Good Luck! Hope you get it fixed.
