Stupid Ending
Didn't cleanse my character. Chose instead to free my father... After-all there is much I could have learned... Stupid ending...

I guess you mean your character's father. Who is not quite the person / entity to be set free. But you did... so you haven't learned much.
Nevermind, it's just a game.

The entire premise and prophecy is you (the PC) are suppoosed to free your (the PC's) father. You (the player) have choices in the matter.

As soon as Arantir was defeated I took the skull and the final cut-scene played. I was given no choices. In that scene, my (the PC's) father was NOT freed. Thus the confusion. After your... comment, cough, I reloaded the last save and was able to free my (the PC's) father.

And you also were able to not free him and decide to keep him trapped. He is greed, a devlish monster, you were used, hadn't you learned? Didn't notice Leanna begging to not give him the skull?
But it's your choice.

But i wouldn't say it's a well worked out multiple-possibilities-ending... it's just a moral, story-wise ending. I find it the most boring part of the entire game. As soon as i reach it i start the game all over for the action and adventure.

*Ignoring unborn* yeah the ending was kind of a huge let down. I tried both setting dad free and also ruling on my own. After all, having a succubus that worships you sounded very promissing... instead we got a "Capcom, Thanks for Playing" type ending that was so short, it almost seemed like they didn't care... no it wasn't the TV Series Lost type of "We don't care" but still it was weak. I would have loved to see me sitting on a throne of skulls with my minion beside me. So now I'm going back and playing as the "Cleansed" from a prior save... 10 seconds out of the church and I kick a preacher over a cliff. Muhahha!!!

The path of evil in this game was so fun, I actually lost interest in seeing the other ending. That Judgemental lady attacked me because I smelled of demon. After all the doors I had opened for her! I think I will youtube the "good" ending and leave my bad one up to my own interpretation.

@Unborn:
You clearly do not understand the situation I have been attempting to express.
1. There are four possible endings two in which Leanna is dead.
2. When I speak of learning, I do NOT mean in the last 5 - 10 minutes as the player. I mean over the course of 50, 100, 1000 or more years as the PC.

@Crutch
Actually for me the path of evil was a let down. Although the Succubus intriged me as well. The weak demon that I could turn into was easily killed. Did it even have any resistances? Daddy could have swatted me like a fly!

So, story-wise should I elect to rule on my own, whatever the skull was to bring into the scenario is unclear. I certainly didn't feel powerful at all. The city above (stone???) was burning and should have burned to the ground and been abandoned as it was still over-run with zombies and ghouls that are stronger than my PC. All I did was stop the dead from rising and ruling.

yeah but what you dont understand is that every ending was a way for the creators to make a second game. Thats how they decided the 4 different choices.
each choice could or would lead to a different storyline afterwards.

even though there probably never gonna make a second game or more :(

All the endings are pretty lame, just enjoy the game and don't worry about it.
I probably would have been disappointed by the ending if the story had been remotely interesting. Had fun kicking people off of cliffs, though.
