Need help with No spider mod

I want to play through the game and finish it but without spiders since i have arachnaphobia and i can't seem to get the mod to work as it gives me a crash to desktop error about a engine error can't load files after the 2 cutscenes at the end of the prologue.

Arachnaphobia does not exist.
On a serious note, where did you get that mod? I haven't heard of it at all and can't really find it. Did you use this guide to install mods?

Apply 4gb patch to your mm.exe:

Use these launch options:
-width X -height X -dxlevel 90 -heapsize 2097152 -novid +datacachesize "128"
for -width and -height use your own display settings.

i have done all of these things but it doesn't work and it probably has something to do with the no spider mod being outdated also i found it from a link from one of the forum posts, i wish i could play through the game but i can't with spiders existing in levels i can't ignore

how? i've done a clean installed and dropped both folders in the main directory and after the 2 cutscenes at the end of the prologue it crashes to desktop

i removed all bik files from the media folder and it loads the level perfectly now lol, thanks.

You can also check if the mod works. Use sv_cheats 1 and mm_npc_create_spider in the console.
