game won't launch

whenever I try to boot the game up nothing happens
I even tried to look in task manager to find the app and see if it was running but I couldn't, the weird part is this wasn't happening before and only started happening now

4gb patcher might help, using -novid in launch options, running game with windows xp compability mode as well as running as admin. Try any of these and if nothing helps, try searching your issue using search function here, there are plenty of solutions.

Also on your Steam's library, right click on your Dark Messiah, go to properties and under the general tab in the launch options tab paste the following: -width 1920 -height 1080 -dxlevel 90 -heapsize 2097152 -novid +datacachesize "128"

* Replace width and height values with the ones of your screen resolution

Tried all those fixes, game just does not like modem cpus. Odd its the only Source engine game with these problems

Just launch the game and wait for few minutes. I've spent 2 days trying to solve the same issue, left mm.exe process running and after ~3 minutes game has been started. It's takes some time for 1st launch, after that game will launch instantly.
Windows 10 22H2 with all current updates.
