Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Single Player

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Single Player

I'm kinda shocked that no one has made anything like this since it's creation
we have hundreds of games like doom and quake but almost none that are similar to this. It's kinda odd

It's not 'we' just 'you'
I have to agree with Dying Light, while it lacks kicks and is a cliché recommendation, Skyrim with mods can feel pretty close to Dark Messiah.. actually I'm currently playing the superior Nehrim (a free to play Skyrim total conversion passion project) and with the Path of the Prophet mod collection which is a one click install from Nexus I'm getting almost Dark Messiah like vibes in the combat thanks to the 430ish mods that game uses among which a bunch of combat (mechanic) overhauls..

also while not kicking a really fun mod for Skyrim is Grappling Hooks which thanks to the Scorpion style 'Get Over Here' grappling hook that it adds creates a similarly broken albeit hilarious and fun mechanic as using it basically just makes npc's ragdoll, it's completely OP though. Well just like the kick in DM.

tbh nobody else thought about Dying Light since they only thought about fantasy games and not ones that have similar gameplay.
I am a bit late to the party, but you might be interested in this game;

I made a small thread-review on this forum, concerning things I liked and stuff that others might dislike. Will probably help you decide if you are going to like this game or not.

This might be a stretch but Shady Knight also looks promising. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1155650/Shady_Knight/
IIRC Used to be more emphasis on environmental combat in way older builds i.e. enemies slipping over shards of glass, impalling themselves with a bunch of em and still getting up sometimes. Seems overall less physics based rn but they might be cooking:

fully agree with the heading. I would buy Dark Messiah 2 if it comes out

im looking forward to this seems like the only true successor
Yeah I agree, we need more melee focused, medieval 1st person hack and slash, story focused games.

This is looking good, hope it lives to its "hype".

Indeed, the "hype" of having no release date, no publisher, no gameplay, no studio history, and no media presence whatsoever
stay in touch with Alkahest, seems to be interesting
