I am actually still running XP. It's an old desktop computer but I built it two years after this game came out, so it should be sufficient.
I just got the same error as I entered the crystal chamber in the Prologue, here is the error:
mm.exe Application Error
The instruction at "0x2408b179" referenced memory at "0x20421ea8". The memory could not be "read".
Yes.
Strangely enough, after the last crash I had it wouldnt' let me print screen the error, saying there was insufficient memory to create a bitmap.
found this which might be relevant http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=500883
I have also gotten a crash error a couple times:
"failed to lock vertex buffer in CMeshDX8::LockVertexBuffer"
Which is immediately followed by the first error I mentioned. Googling these issues, it seems they have been affecting people ever since the game came out in 2006. Surely over the course of these 10 years someone knows how to fix this?
it's rather annoying. probaly windows 10 issue -_-
I did check it, yeah.
I ended up fixing my problem (finally) after following some troubleshooting advice I found here: http://www.blindnero.com/forums/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=2
If anyone else is having similar issues I would advise to read the troubleshooting guide there, hopefully it will help.
