Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Single Player

Other games like this?
I haven't found any other games like this one. It's great, but once you've cleared it 10 times it starts to get boring.

I would love a game like this one with a bit more depth, but so far I haven't been able to find anything with this game's weapon system, or similar. Skyrim was a good bet when it released, but it turned out to be a Become-A-Nightingale simulator with mods, where you one-shot dragons with a x30 glass dagger backstab.

So, any ideas of games that play similar to this one?

Well Dishonored and Dishonred 2 are bascially the same game by the same studio but just a different setting.

nothing too similar though
I had already checked that, most games are pretty old like Dark Souls, or have nothing to do like HoMM5. I even have Lichdom in my library IIRC, but I want a game that has this medieval-ish look.

Nah, that game was a good idea, but they encourage stealth over killing too much for my taste. I would love that game if they weren't like "Uh oh if you kill people it will be really hard!".

Thief 2, but theres not really magic. Its just more of a hardcore stealth sim.

I'm looking for a game where I can fight stuff, not for a stealth game. Otherwise Dishonored would probably be a perfect pick because... it's basically Dark Messiah stealth mode.

Jedi outcast and academy have really good combat systems even though the setting is completely different

You're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck, Dark Messiah was the first and last game like this.

Immersive sims is probably the style of game you are looking for there is really only a limited amount of these games ever made

here are the most popular titles in this genre from oldest to newest

Ultima underworld 1 and 2 are the pretty much the first immersive sims ever made by looking glass.

System shock was the next game in the genre and uses a similar engine to underworld so may not be too popular with newer gamers due to them being very archaic.

Thief 1 and 2 are the next examples of immersive sims and are both classic stealth sims.

System Shock 2 was next and is pretty much where the style of immersive sims gained a fair bit of popularity and where the games started to become pretty much what they are today and is a classic everyone should play.

Deus ex everyone knows about this game

Arx Fatalis is like a prequel to Dark Messiah and a fairly good game worth checking out if you loved Dark Messiah.

Vampire the masquerade bloodlines has an interesting setting and good gameplay but is a bit of a buggy mess at times worth trying out if you have ran out of immersive sims to play.

Dark messiah was next

Bioshock is more of an immersive sim lite but has gained a lot of praise personally i find it a little bit too simplified from systrem shock.

Dishonored games are similar to thief in that they are more stealth focused but both a fairley good games.

Prey is the most recent immersive sim and is a spiritual sequel to system shock its a great game and well worth checking out.

comming soon in the immersive sim genre is a system shock remake if it ever gets out of develpoment hell and a new underworld game called "Underworld Ascendant" that looks good from the promotion videos.

most of these games where worked on by some variation of the original looking glass studio or arkane studios.

hope this helps there are more games similar in style but these are the most popular and worth playing even the older games.

Half-Life 2 has a lot of similarities with Dark Messiah, not just engine.

What similarities exactly?

darth miike hit the nail on the head. Excellent list!

With some xtra patching I was able to get past most of the "buggy-ness" of Vampires. I absolutely love the atmosphere/mood of that game. Different vamp clans do play quite differently. That is a game that is well worth an updated/remake version of the game.

Take a look at Severance: Blade of Darkness and Die By The Sword.

I've already cleared Sargon's and Tukaram's story, hehe. The second one, I don't know it, awesome!

I checked the other one, it's not the kind of game I like. The idea is good, but it's too fantastic with the massive jumps and random swinging.

I need something more concrete. Thanks for the try though.

you could try Arx fatalis
