Hey ryanugetemzz,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share this here for other players!
I'm sorry you ran into issues, but glad to see you've been able to find a fix!
If there is ever anything we can help with at all, please let us know!
- Ubisoft Support
Thank you for the response but the best help would be directing players towards forums fixes instead of the ubi forums, in my experience they're mostly useless for this game; more than likely due to its age. Due to this there arent any clear fixes for the issues i ran into which seem to be reoccurring issues for other players. Giving new players somewhere to look for clear definitive answers instead of dead forums from a decade ago is all this game and its players need.
If we're sharing troubleshooting or links to contact Ubisoft Support directly, that tends to be links to our websites. Apart from that, we're more than happy to send links to resources here on Steam - we do that pretty regularly. I agree that the official Ubisoft forums for Might & Magic are less useful than the forums here on Steam - but that's why we post and offer support on here as well!
All that said, I appreciate your feedback on this. Let me know if you've any further thoughts or questions.

I copied the depot file to the console folder and the white screen persists.
For me the fix didnt work right away, try opening your game through the exe in the root folder, if not try a fresh install with the depot file fix, at first the fix wasnt an instant wow the game works, i think i restarted my pc and it just worked eventually after i tried launching the game like 10 times, if none of this works let me know and ill get back to you with something
For those still facing crashing issues, I wanted to share a couple of resources that might help.
First, please make sure to start with the troubleshooting guide[ubi.li]. In particular from the guide, please make sure you are running the game with administrator rights, you've verified the game files, you've got your graphics drivers and Windows install fully updated, and you don't have any background programs which could interfere with the game. These steps make sure the game has access to read and write all the files and systems that it needs.
Next, try the compatibility mode guide[ubi.li]. From this one, we recommend setting it to the last Windows version listed in the system requirements. For Dark Messiah, that's Windows XP.
Lastly, if it still doesn't work, check out the system files support article[ubi.li]. The two files it describes can be used to gather your system specs, and also any crash information Windows has logged. We can't do this publicly on the forums, though, for security reasons, so once you've got those two files prepared I'd recommend reaching out to our support specialists directly for a private conversation.
Open a support ticket with Ubisoft Support[ubi.li]
Send Ubisoft Support a private message on Facebook[ubi.li]
Send Ubisoft Support a direct message on Twitter[ubi.li]
Let me know if I can clarify any of those steps!
