How the hell are you supposed to defeat the Lich King?

Sure, let's pit the player against a boss level enemy, with 5 undead that spit acid every 2 seconds that bring down your health to 5 points every time. Honestly this game has been pretty frustrating for me so far. Everyone keeps on raving about the combat being so godly, and I guess it's just the fact that I suck at it, but what's the secret to fighting properly? Blocking with the shield and attacking takes 10 something hits to kill an enemy, and it's even harder when they spit the acid stuff at you.

heh Lich King ? That dude is easy just rush him you can even kill him before he wakes up from the grave.

But I see your problem. As you stated: takes 10 something hits to kill an enemy. That means you are not using heavy attacks right ? I mean the light attacks are pretty much useless against anything start using heavy attacks and you will shine.

You see, that's the problem - I am using the heavy attacks. I wind up, hit the enemy, block a hit, and it just goes like this in a circle for a good half a minute or so. And guess what, there's 4 other undead in the room who keep spitting acid at you when you're still fighting the first one. It's frustrating as hell to the point where I just start spamming fireballs at them and using up most of the offensive scrolls.

than focus only on a Lich, don't bother with the undead and kill him as fast as you can, because if you kill him it will even kill other undeads he raised.

Fire. You can hop on to his coffin and pump him full of lethal Flame Arrows before he even gets a chance to start moving. In addition (for the liches you'll encounter later), remember that throwing an oil jar at an enemy, then setting them on fire, will kill them instantly, even if it's a lich.

The lich can heal himself, so it's important to hit him as hard as possible, as fast as possible. The best method for that depends on the build you're running, but if you're having issues with that, then you may have spread yourself too thin. The game becomes significantly easier if you invest in any particular skill tree early on, and stick to it.


If you've got Flame Arrow, using it would be the best option. Quaff three or four potions if you have to, if your mana is still at 20. Build your adrenaline up, then incinerate him with the one-shot-kill adrenaline version of the spell.

If you're going sword and board, ignore the zombies or kick them off the sides, if possible. Hit him with power attacks until your adrenaline is built up, then kill him outright. All full-adrenaline attacks in this game are lethal if they connect, including arrows.

One thing that may help you to fihgt the final boss is to get the dragons holy weapons. You can get them if you listen to leanna and go to the curch in the prevuois level, you will lose xana's power(the demonic form) but you will be able to use those weapons. The quest start after you find a sword in a cript. Those weapons does a ot of damage to undead and comes really in handy in that fight.

given that xana has merged with you to prevent you from dying that is indeed a bit of an unsuited thing to do to her. Funnily you can get through the game without killing the othe,r i just froze her for a moment opened the gate and slipped through :P

however I never used the form Xana grant kinda felt just way more complicated to play and be effective than needed.

yeah her demon form even if have huge damage is not worth since you have pretty much no protection and you can be killed in a few hits. But still Xana is much better choice than Leanna damn I hate her. I always saved her from the spider to get xp points but killed her immediately after that with a Souldrinker sword to make it extra painful for her (A cursed weapon, created by a necromantic ritual that binds a tormented spirit to a newforged blade. The resulting weapon feeds on the life force of its victims.)
