Enemies don't want to die?

Hey there!
I love Dark Messiah, finished it a whole lot of times a few years ago. Just installed it again for nostalgic reasons ... but it seems that this time, I run into waaaay more enemies that just don't want to f*cking die!! I kick them, they fall, I stab them with daggers, they scream, and... stand up again! It happens all the time (every 2nd to 3rd encounter..) and is kinda annoying. Any way to fix that? My game version is 1.02, I run it currently on Win7, difficulty mode 'hard', with Unlimited Edition Mod installed.

you mean that a few of the enemies that dont die? or all just seem tougher? if its all then im guessing you were just used to playing on a lower difficulty? or maybe its something to do with the mod

What I meant was that *some* enemies, lying on the floor, being stabbed by a mortal strike like, with the daggers where you get that special animation for it don't die when they are *supposed to* ... I mean they scream, there is blood splashes all over the screen, but they just get up again where they definitely shouldn't - I'm not complaining about the difficulty here xD
This issue also happens with orcs, but for some reason way more often with black guards. Anyways, I can live with it. It's just a bit annoying.

use the short sword to finish them of.. its stronger

Dont use the daggers, use swords instead unless you are using stealth. I recommend you also level up your strength.

Dont forget to use the enviroment too, like kicking them off ledges, into spikes etc.
