Can't start the game

hi all,
i have this pc:
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit (with all update installed)
Motherboard: asus p5k
CPU: Intel Core 2 quad CPU Q9650 3.00 Ghz
Ram: DDR2 800 6 GB
HD: 2 TB Western Digital caviar Black
Video:geforce GTX 750 with 391.35 driver version
Audio:realtek with R2.81 driver version integrated with motherboard
Monitor:AOC 2781

but when i start the game i have this error:

I tried all solutions from pc gaming wiki....but nothing,i checked the cache,delete the game with revounistaller,i rebuild the cache on steam,i change hdmi cable to vga,move the binkw32.dll to windows32,sysWOW64 and root folder of Dark messiah,I tried everything but don't start...i have all update,driver,framework,CC++,nvidia physx etc...

for curiosity i installed the game on my laptop Latitude E6410 with windows 10 Professional 64bit and the game works,maybe my system is damage?but i tried sfc scannow and don't have any error,with other game(new and old) i don't have any problem.

did you try compatibility mode with win xp and running the game with admin privileges?

yep with service pack 3 and 2,not working

hmmm no...i tried to unistall the video driver(with clean option)but nothing,i don't have any other idea maybe my system is damage i don't know,for now i'm playing the game with my laptop with external monitor and working well with high detail.

ok so i found a solution, i installed a nocd patch. if you want to try it's on gamecopyworld, i used 1.02 multi5 one.

try to write "-dxlevel 90" in launch parametres

tried...but i don't have any error,i start and the process(mm.exe) close after 5 seconds...

hmmm I try as soon as I can,but for me my system have some problems...but is strange i have 591 games on steam and this is only i can't start lol,for example i can start without problems half life 2,episode one and two,this game have the same engine!

i rememeber having this problem back when i was on windows 7.. i never got it working. funny enough now on windows 10. i dont have this issue game runs but it dose crash alot. my bet is that windows 7 dose just not work with this game...either that or missing runtime librarys. but it all seems to point to windows 7 being the problem. easy fix...upgrade to windows 10.

I bought a new pc, I installed windows 10 1803 and the game works correctly with unlimited edition

Not sure if anyone will be still interested in this. I was trying this to get this to work today. Trying from exactly the same machine it worked on 10 years ago, unchanged, and now wouldn't run!

Loads of posts on here about it, and tried loads of things to no effect. Finally solved the same issue by accident. I saw an article on changing the resolution in steam beforehand, and saw that there was a way to get steam to autconfigure the game. I put -autoconfig in the launch parameters and it worked fine.

For automatic config:

Either:
Steam: in Library right-click on ''Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Singleplayer'' => Properties
Retail version: right-click on the shortcut on desktop => Properties
In ''General'' tab, click button ''Set Launch Options...''
In the text box type in: -autoconfig
Click OK
launch the game.

Hope this works for people trying to launch it from now on!

Solution: run it with parameters -w 1280 -h 800
