...what a stupid way to program things. It should be "Duncan must survive" AND "Duncan mustn't see your true self". "hates you"...pfah!
Still, thanks.
But how would he know if I murdered some schmuck somewhere else while he wasn't present? As I said, stupid.
Yeah, but Imperial Guards won't block your progress lol.
Ah well, I guess I'll start back from Undead Cyclops and try to do it some other way(Weaken + Sanctuary is so good with demon form).
The Undead Cyclops you have to kill with ballista?
No, the Act 9 one. I just mauled him while in Demon form while maintaining Sanctuary(+heal in human form, ofc). It's the one where it's optional to fight him. I figured that it'd fit how I see Sareth(constantly being toyed around etc so very angry) so I just brutally mauled him. Maybe I did something wrong here? After that there's that part where Percy has to jump over the bridge, but the bridge collapses, you seperate and you find a healer + 2(3?) Guards fighting Ghouls. Here I just demonised everything and the Guards + Healer attacked me. Tbh, they attacked me before I changed the form, so I went wtf and just mauled everything.
In that case, we got to the root of the problem if you ask me. If Xana tells you to never show your new form (Demon Form) because then they`ll never take you back to Stonehelm, then you just have to take it by heart and thus when you`re dealing with Stonehelm residents, both Villagers and Guards + Wizards, just don`t go Demon because they absolutely HATE that (and who knows, maybe they already know about the prophecy as well. Black Guards already knew it after all). House of Ashes (Heresh) and Epilogue (Necropolis) are excluded from that criteria because of their residents being your foes, thus in those 2 chapters as well as the Fire in Blood one before meeting with Duncan again, you can go Demon as much as you wish, at least in my vision (never went Demon even after receiving it because of Stealth).
Kind of weird that Duncan would hate you because you would kill Stonehelm Guards and Wizards if they attack you first tho, since I got attacked as well even without ever going Demon and there were no consequences for killing them whatsoever (I was using the Lightning Shield tho, thus one of the Guards must have accidentally hit it, thus triggering the "You attacked me, you`ll pay for this!" mode in them, kind of like how it can happen with Goblins on the ship and Urog the Orc). Guess Duncan`s ghost, if he didn`t managed to survive, accompanies Sareth secretly and all. =P
Duncan didn't survive, ofc. There's something strange going on. Needless to say it, I wouldn't program it like this.
Something tells me then that all other Stonehelm Guards are using the same model Duncan uses in that chapter, thus ... yeah, the thing is really strange to us, even if it makes sense in the in-game world, as at that point, every Stonehelm Guard is supposed to be your ally and Duncan is the 1st one you see when you return back to the city.
I didn't mean Duncan. I meant his cousin(or whatever he is) PERCY. That's why all of that didn't make any sense.
Oooh, ok, now that really changes things ... to really weird waters as well. Also nope, Percy didn`t hate me for killing Stonehelm Guards and Wizards as soon as they started attacking me, thus talk about bizarre right there. The only thing I can pull out of this is that once you popped Demon Form inside Chapter 9 (since I myself never went Demon and thus I never got that "mission failed" game over), then this chain of ridiculousness started in the 1st place, as like people say, "bad news travel fast" and you revealing yourself to be a Demon is one really bad news right there.
Cyclops -> Bridge -> Building -> Healer + 3 guards -> Percy(I think he's supposed to raise or lower the level of water in the canal). I tried using Charm and Weaken on those 4-5 Ghouls attacking the guards, but a Healer started flinging spells at me(from nowhere, maybe my Charmed Ghoul struck him?), so I killed them. Later -> can't progress("Percy hates you").
