Randomly kicked by punkbuster for no reason

Just updated the game and I was really exited, but everytime I join a game it kicks me and says punkbuster kicked me for "RESTRICTION: Service Comunication Faliure: PnkBstrA.exe" IS there anything I can do, might redownload the update, ill post if it works...

guys, I'm running into this issue too, I keep getting kicked out, I deleted everything and reinstalled everything, still no fix, also noticed my character is maxed out on the the level cap, right now i'm at level 100, how is that even possible??

Ohh the level cap, well HSL explained in their patch notes ( http://www.hardsuitlabs.com ) that the level 100 is a build up towards your prestige number (the little number under the 100). Once you reach level 100 again you can trade it in for a prestige number(going into your social menu in the top right and clicking the prestige tab), then you start from level 1 again (but leveling up is much quicker now its not going to take years to get a prestige number). HSL also say there will be rewards in the future depending on your prestige level so thats a good incentive to level up more! they already released skins for when you made an account for the game so I'm sure they will release more content!

So, I had this issue when I got home. This is what I did to resolve it.

1. Installed PunkBuster services - pbsvc.exe
2. Installed PunkBuster setup - pbsetup.exe and set it up for Blacklight Retribution (pointing to where BLR is installed: \blacklightretribution\Binaries\Win32).

After that I was golden. You can download both files from the PB website: http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads.php

just letting you know; this is the 2nd time this has happened after a major patch since parity. Go kick some devs butt and make sure that PB setup (and potentially other prerequisites too) get run after a patch, please. ;)

Every time there is a change involving the pre~, they have to be reindtalled or the game risks failing / crashing. It's pretty common. I'm on the forums often, telling people to go find them and reinstall them.

ooooooooh!!! see I checked the release notes but I had no clue what it meant, thank you for the reply man! Well I just started it up this morning and looks like the games working again (thank god) I'll have to work on leveling up again then, and I just checked out the skins, looks awesome! I also found a new map I've never seen, hopefully they keep pushing the content, BLR is one of the few online shooters I really like. :)

@ Atticus1259 IKR I love how BLR is going, sure there are hiccups but as long as we keep telling them whats wrong they will fix it soon, also he new content should keep a lot of people in the game, I feel like they shuld advertise the game again on steam to get new players to try it out again

Still getting kicked after updates, setup and everything else...And I still get kicked with the message "Needs pnbkstr in order to play..No packet flow..blabla". I've done everything and it still kicks me out? Driving me nuts...

This is what I did to fix all the punkbuster kicking, it worked for me it may work for you.

1. Install PunkBuster services - http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe

2. Install PunkBuster setup - http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/W/gui/pbsetup.zip

Make sure that the setup is pointing to the correct place where you installed Blacklight, I have it installed through steam so my location is this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\blacklightretribution\Binaries\Win32",
the idea is that you point it to the "\blacklightretribution\Binaries\Win32" folder.

You may need to restart your PC after this to make the Punkbuster services to start (I didn't need it).

Have you tried running \blacklightretribution\Redist\pbsvc_blr.exe from where ever you have BLR installed?

Also, if you're an uber PC person that customizes Windows services and such, make sure you have not disabled the PunkBuster services. (not saying you did this, just throwing it out there)
