I'm not sure when the last update was, but the last time anything meaningful changed was parity IMO. BLR is not being updated, less than 100 CCUs, not worth downloading

The state of the game is sad, I used to play it alot and made some good friends and even more it was the game that introduced me to FPS.
Maybe one day it will return to that "golden age", but I don't see it possible in the near future

I can confirm that. Just tried to log in both with my old account and with a new one. Nothing. Too bad, BLR used to be one of the greatest MP games ever. I miss those fantasic graphics.

I partially blame the economy messing with non paying players, but that would only be a partial fault.

The Parity patch makes every other reason completely insignificant. When you release a patch that nobody wanted that turns a decent F2P game into complete trash, then nothing else you do before or after matters.

I hate how they removed maps like that Oilrig/ Offshore map, cause some imbeciles complained they got lost on it, Slum-yard? was also removed, so was that Sydney or whatever map that was like a circle and a building in the middle.

Lots of good memories on those maps, then one day they're gone and one is replaced with a dumber alternative version, because why not.

The devs deserve this failure, because of their stupidity and incompetence. They announced a patch for this January and it literally changed nothing, the game is still complete garbage. I hope it's shut down for good soon, because it's not the same game it was and its current existence is a joke to everyone who once liked it.

I was talking with a friend that if the game died (the game has been since what, 2010? that's a DAMN long run for a F2P game that doesn't obtain super-famous status like with TF2 or LoL or DotA) that if the game died it would serve as motivation for some playerbase that can bring back the game up and change the economy/restrictions/patches to go for a legacy version or revamp the pricetags or balancing. While if the game is still up these players are unlikely to go ahead and do it, but yeah, this would be a risk and it would be betting on people to revive this game if it dies.


What was the parity patch, btw? I have installed the game 2 days ago and haven't played it in 4 years.

The parity patch made the PC version of the game like the Playstation version. What little recoil the game had was completely removed, the UI was updated, I mentioned in my previous post how some maps were removed from the game for no reason. Basically, if you go on the News section and scroll back to 2015 or the end of 2014, you can see the post where they release the Parity patch, people are originally excited, then when they see what has happened to the game, they turn bitter and disappointed, and over 50% of the population instantly quits. You can also find threads on the forum from that time and see what went down. It's all recorded here, you can sorta "relive it".
