Is multiplayer dead?

I got multiplayer with base game, and as I see on steam from my friends nobody have more then 5 achievements, even after 500+h of gameplay(one have 550h) and some left game after less then 1h of play.

So I wonder is multiplayer dead or what?

i just got a new computer and downloaded to see if people still play and didnt find any one for matches.

I just got this game last week relatively cheap for me and a friend to play something similar to mw2 but with a different spin only to be plagued with an inability to find people to play with. I've played some games over the last few days, but a bunch of them are like 3v3. It's not great and it's quite disappointing, especially considering the current price of this on steam. I think I will go back to mw2.

those 5 achievements are from exo survivor (free with the game), and the other achievements come with zombies (buy dlcs)

Because your friends are weak. Just kidding. Welcome to the community. As spAce_ESP wrote, achievements comes from exo-survival and zombies AND the campaign.

A lot of people still play the game.
You can have full lobbies like 16 hours on 24 a day, but only TDM.
You will need to uninstall DLC's if you have any and only then go to"find game" "Team deathmatch" in way to extenxd your matchmaking range.
If not, you can always join the 2 AW active groups below and and join its member game, it's public so nobody never minds of course.

Just be advised, on this group we spam invites, we're bombarding with invites as it's difficult to mount an isolated from public lobby, due to people leaving the lobby and creating the snowball effect.

i bought the game for the grapple lines but it turned out they are only in campaign - you need a DLC to add grapples to mulitplayer.
DLC Ascension that adds grapples is on sale today so I just bought it to see if anyone is at least playing that mode.

Watching the steam servers there are usually about ten less people playing this (Team DM) than there are Ghosts, many seem to have stayed behind in Modern Warefare 3 and the lion's share are in World World 2

Developers need to bring all CoD players onto one server making it easy to jump from say Ghosts to MW3 on the fly (like TrackMania). I think you'll find the distribution of players would then me a bit more varied as it would be easy to load in and out of each CoD branch.

And thanks for the links Mateusz but if I play this online I want to play with the grapple lines =P

Also, not sure if AW has the same Achilles Heel as Ghosts but 'leveling' up in Ghosts is a slow go and really painful when you've done a good game, know you've got booku XP coming but the loosing side rages and floods the server so the massive lag drops your game (and all XP with it).

Update:

No one at all in Grapple (at least at this current time of day) and Grapple can not be played against bots so the Ascend DLC is a bit of a waste of $
