Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Menu Problem
I start the game, I press the Backspace button, the game doesn't enter the menu. It doesn't crash or anything, it just sits there, loading.

I reinstalled it to see how it was after the update, and the same thing happened to me. No other option in the menu except using backspace to exit the game.

EDIT: I've partially solved it. It seems to be related to the save file I had on my PC before the update. I used to play using xliveless (that file that allows the game to run without GFWL). I think the update replaced xlive with a new version, and for some reason, that caused the issue where the menu wouldn't show. I deleted the folder where the game saves progress and launched it again. Now I can get to the next screen. However, the game is now stuck on “waiting for teammates,” even in offline mode.

Install GFWL (if on windows of course), and downgrade the game version. That's the easiest way to get it working. I even launched a public match earlier this day and someone joined I was suprised that people still play this nowadays tbh.

There I did it, luckily it works.
I hope they fix the online problem :/
If not, I'll have to downgrade.

Honestelly they took 4 years to literally force xliveless into the code, what we could do in 5 mins before. So don't hope too much imo, just downgrade now before the depot get deleted (I don't know if it's possible but who knows).

No need to downgrade the game. I just replaced the updated xlive file with the old xliveless mod, and now the game doesn't get stuck on "waiting for teammates" anymore.

EDIT: There was another comment here suggesting changing the permissions in Windows Defender. I can't see it anymore, not sure if it was deleted. In any case, I'd like to thank the user who suggested it, because it also worked.

You can't access multiplayer with xliveless, the game sucks solo imo.
