GFW is dead, so why does this game still use it?

I'm not entirely sure GFWL is the sole problem. I had a physical copy of the game installed just last week, and it worked great. No issues whatsoever. But then Steam had a sale with all the DLC, so I purchased that, uninstalled my boxed copy (including all registry scraps and former Capcom settings and folders), and now I can't even get the game to start, let alone run.

I finally understand why Steam users have always hated GFWL. Steam and GFWL go together like oil and water. GFWL on its own wasn't a bad service, and its DRM was simple. But pairing it with a purchase through the Steam store, and... wow. This is aggravating. It took me two reinstalls and some juryrigging to get Street Fighter X Tekken to work. Now I'm doing the same with this game.

Not true.

The GFWL Marketplace was closed on the date specified. No purchases can be made through it, and if you try to browse content in-game, you'll get an error.

GFWL games will still play normally, however, because the Xbox servers double as GFWL servers. GFWL is "dead" because no more games will be published using the service, and no content will be sold through it either. Until either the Xbox servers shut down or Microsoft goes through the effort of disconnecting GFWL from them entirely, GFWL games will work just fine.

The company that did this port is still operating
They are called QLOC and they do lot of ports for PC

so the removal of GFWL is perfectly possible!!! The people who did the PC version and made programed this piece of sh*t that is GFWL are still operating.
