Games for WIndows Live Verify Date Message
Hi all,

I'm posting about the retail disc version of this game, but this seemed like the best place to get a possible resposne due to the forums still being active.

After installing the game, I get the message "Games for Windows Live must verify the release date of your game" and can't get past that point. It's been driving me crazy the last few days trying various fixes found online having no luck. I'm hoping to still be able to play online as my brother also has this (though, he's had his retail copy installed since Windows 7 with no issues).

Here's a picture of the message - http://imgur.com/Voc8mx4

Thanks for the help!

Connect your computer to the internet

Ha, I wish it were that easy. It never is with GFWL though.

Make sure nothing (firewalls, A/V etc) are blocking 'GodaWFuL' from the Internet.

Let me know if you get it working, as I was considering picking up a cheap-y retail copy of this also, but am very tentative because of the pervasive problems associated with this disgusting DRM, such as you're having.

Thanks for the response back, Sablicious! I just double checked and it wasn't being blocked. I even just tried setting the date on the computer back (since I know that's a trick that works with the Arkham City DRM junk) with no luck. I won't be giving up quite yet though and I'll let you know if I find anything!

Holy hell, I figured it out! So, I downloaded a no cd patch and applied it, entered my serial key in from my physical copy, but when I did that I couldn't get the GFWL update to apply. So I browsed the installation folder and tracked down the zdp folder, and noticed that's where the stupid message was coming from. So I deleted the config file there, booted up the game, and everything worked great! Excitement aside -

1.) Download no cd patch (I googled it and downloaded the last option on Game Copy World)

2.) Apply that file to the folder and replace it.

3.) Go into the zdp folder and delete the ZdpConfig file

4.) Launch the game and enter in your serial key, apply the update, and hopefully you'll be good to go!
