No Mouse Pointer on Main Screen
Whenever I load up the game, the mouse pointer dosen't apprear, making it impossible to load anything. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Any thoughts?

When booting up, shake the mouse. This makes the pointer appear on the main menu. Also, don't open the Steam overlay, as this also causes this problem.

i had the same issue, thanks for posting this
In my case, it is possible to load any savegame without the visible mouse pointer. After loading any savegame, the mouse pointer is visible again and you can go to the main menu and load the correct savegame (or the latest, or whatever you have planned to do)
This is my workaround to bypass the issue...
Yes it is annoying, but it works fine ;)

This happened for me too. I found that my issue was caused by the CD key pop ups. By choosing "Do not show this anymore" and clicking accept - and then quitting the game and relaunching it, I managed to make the issue disappear for good.
I had the same problem. If you wait until you are past the loading screens and actually in game, you can open and close the steam overlay to get rid of the CD key without losing your pointer.

Having the same problem , but only with MMO's. Sometimes fixes itself after a while, and while not playing the games in question. Don't know why this occurs. Lately, it started with Lord of the Rings Online. If I can alter the game from full to window in options, the pointer returns. Yet, I need to be able to do this, and can't always highlight the windowed screen option successfully while the pointer is invisable. So, the problem can't always be fixed that simply.

It's a video driver issue.

Make sure you are using the default Windows Pointers, and try performing a clean install of your video drivers.

The video driver is lagging when it updates the mouse pointer bitmap.

How?

Actually looking into doing this again right now and realise as always that this is a huge pain for me. Reinstalling the NVidia because the altest ones aren't meant for my system and the ones i need alwasy need to be located on external website....it is a hassel to find and even install them this way. There are other problmes with it too, but nVida don't help me out that much with the awkwardness of how their software and my hardware.

Strange.

What is unusual about your hardware?

Go to Steam / Help / System Informaiton.

Cut and paste everything that appears in the window, into a new post here.
Please get everything.

This reveals how Steam (and games) see your hardware.
