The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

I can't run The Witcher!
Hello. I recently bought The Witcher and it installed and everything. It tells me my key, but then when I press play it says, Error... Warning! Minimum system requirments not met, and then it closes. I even went to the games directory and ran as administrator, but the same thing happens. If someone would tell me how to fix this, it would be greatly apreciated. Thank you.

if you run this game and your PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements will it crack your motherboard or result in any other damage to your PC?

Normally, yes, but you can avoid it if you overload your power supply unit to 1.21 gigawatts.

No, it won't happen. If a game physically cracks your motherboard, then you were either:

A. Simultaneously using it as a trampoline or
B. Punished by the almighty for some horrible transgression and should immediately see a priest (just not a Roman Catholic one).

All religious (har har) jokes aside, you should almost never see a game physically damage your computer. The only risk would be if you had low end specs and poor air flow (assuming you are playing on a desktop) and the affected components failed to auto-shut down for some benign reason. Don't be worried by the frightening error message (that seems inaccurate), the only thing you will notice if you don't meet requirements is a poor framerate and crashes, but there will be absolutely no "physical" damage. :p

omg i cant stop laughing at what you wrote that is just funny you sir just made my day

For anyone trying to play the game now, and can't seem to get this trick to work(like myself) there is another way. When in the library, look to the list of games on the left side of the library. Click the arrow to open the options table. Place the mouse over the "Other" option, and then at the bottom of the next list it displays the games name. Clicking this seems to launch the game without issue.

Wow so easy to do and most importantly it worked the very first time! Oh and I'm just using a non-gaming win/10 laptop computer. Thanks ever so much friend for taking the time to help us gamers, please keep it up!!
