CD Key

I keep getting prompted to enter my CD key when I start-up the game but I've never been asked by the game to enter the code, has anyone else experianced this?

It should work for both The Witcher 1 and 2.

If you have trouble activating the key, you should check www.thewitcher.com/backup to resolve the issue.

yeah, I read that part already. unfurtunetly my e-mail seems to have purged my receipt for the game as i've owned it for a whilenow.

Ugh, my key won't get through. I'll have to get trough the hassle of printing and scanning the receipt someday :/

as a new owner of the game, I too kept getting the pop up notification to use key, but game started perfectly without entering the key, it did this each time I started the game, the last time it did this I clicked the button "copy to clipboard", and now each time I start the game I do not get that pop up, it goes straight into game

Edit + I ticked the box do not show this again also

Does the steam version have to be installed in order to view the cd key? Trying to migrate everything over to GOG.

No it doesn't, go to your library hightlight the witcher game in question switch todetail view and the CD Key option should appear in the side menu.
