For starters, grab the Monster Lore and Herbolism skills from the Intelligence tree first.
These will help you harvest extra potion ingredients from plants and corpses throughout the game. This will also help you out with money by selling the ingredients if ever the cash gets tight.
After getting these, upgrading many of your sword style skills isn't a bad idea, especially the ones that directly buff the style's damage. You can also throw in some stuff that buffs condition damage (Bleeding, Ignite, Pain, Etc.) here and there which will combo nicely with your signs.
Also, search the stat based skill trees and nab anything that buffs direct damage or anything that buffs attack in there.
Igni and Aard are pretty much the only two signs you'll need so you'll probably want to upgrade those as well intermittently. (Damage, Firing arcs, and conditions like Ignite, Knockdown and Stun.)
Take note of what you seem to be using most and what you like doing best in fights and play it by ear. You'll soon know what to do on your own.
thanks that really helps!!
Well I wouldnt say every good skill tree. For example, Skrim has one of the most in depth skill trees I have ever seen, and it has some dlc that takes off the level cap, allowing you to eventually fill up all the skills.
