(I played on windows 11 no issues so that's not it)
(Maybe it was fixed in some mod I use from this guide)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2706522134
If you have no mods just verify game files , if you have mods delete duplicate files.
Also check if you have z_nolife file and delete it if you found it in game files.
(Also ensure you are not on max toxicity)
the mods change the health bar appearance but look almost same as original , you can try the AI texture mod with rise of wolf and overhaul (this is one mod named AI textures) and it would show the health bar as red , also if you click shift and point at health bar it says your exact hp number.
you can also change colour to more red by increasing saturation in reshade.
here is a picture of how the Ui (health bar and other bars) looks:

Download the mod, create a folder in /data named override, then extract the mod in there. Lunch it with steam is a wrong way to do it ?
??
for easiest installation do rise of white wolf first then add the AI textures mod and replace files (then check if you have same file that is located in z_rotww and delete it)
for example if you have 2 oko_w files or other files with exact same name and one is 512x512 and other 1024 x 1024 then you need to delete the lower quality one or if one is located in z_rotww then also you need to delete it
the texture mod is a different outdated mod (please delete it) , you only need one file that is with AI upscale mod , here is what I mean:
AiO AI Upscale Textures with The Witcher Overhaul Project by lexo1000
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher/mods/808?tab=files
yes you extract there but make sure there is no folders in that folder just files alone and make sure you dont have compressed files inside.
then manually install rise of white wolf and disable sky blocks and check for duplicate and delete them if found
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher/mods/669
then add
Textures Settings Downgrade Fix on same page
also in steam (right click game on steam, click properties) disable steam cloud , big picture or overlay as they are not needed or not working.
then in steam go to command section and add the :
-dontforceminreqs
This will enable game to use highest quality textures from the mod.
then in game settings go to settings and make sure you have everything max except light that needs to be low and shadows that have to be medium.
then try new game and check if you see the bar as I showed in picture above.
the health bar change is from rise of white wolf the AI upscale just makes textures higher quality so they dont look so blurry as original.
to see if mods work just check your game vs comparison pictures on rise of white wolf
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher/mods/669
(if you want clouds from rise of white wolf then delete clouds from overhaull manually and then in rise of white wolf select skybox option)
(or I can just send it to you )

I myself have only d3d9.dll in system / witcher 1 and dont have the rest files this guy said
just to make sure but are you perhaps missing this file ?
( I thought it is default file from game as mine says installed 2022)
(but maybe it was from one of the mods)
ok I just checked and it says it came from reshade so I guess it is not default file lol
I got this file from : https://reshade.me/
and if you use reshade you might as well use the preset for game :

Thanks again, i thinks your last solution from reddit is the one

no problem , since you have mods I still recommend checking the guide I posted above (I am not the author of it)
you dont need everything from there just the bug fixes and few mods you like.
also the NVIDIA part is nice as it enables HBAO+ in game .
I also recommend the reshade I posted as the colours just look better and the annoying grey on monitor is gone.
you can customise everything in reshade (if you dont like the dark colour you can turn it off to have what I posted in above picture)
https://imgur.com/a/TAZmZuJ
, you can see the difference in the pictures I took :

as for performance it takes like 2-3 fps max +1 ms delay which is almost nothing
The old link to WineD3D via that Reddit post no longer appears to work as the site has been remapped. Instead, you can download it here:
https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag
Download the current version and then put d3d9.dll and wined3d.dll into The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System folder (no longer need libwine.dll).
This works for both Windows 10 and 11.
