The Witcher 1 Application load error 5:0000065434

At first I got the minimum requirements error, I did as all commented and added the -dontForceMinReqs command at the shortcut target and all, but then THIS error appears!
Application load error 5:0000065434

Any suggestions??

Sorry, maybe this is too late but:

"steam.exe" is in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam -If you have another OS it will say something else, but it is usually located in Program Files- and you have to copy it and then paste it in here: D:\STEAM\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System

Wow. Just wow. I had the same issue and copying the steam.exe into my other library folder worked for me as well. It's weird though because the game initially worked just fine, but today all of a sudden it decided otherwise.

that should be ok then if thats your default steam install path.
I had this error once with fallout new vegas when i installed it to a different path.

Try copying steam.exe to your witcher directory.
I know it seems an odd thing to do,but i had the same error and that worked,
although on a totaly different game,but the error message was exactly the same.

I do it, and in install new steam client inside game folder :-(

EDIT:
Ok the problem was, i have steam on different disc. But after I install it on the same like the game it didn't help
