Saving Berengar
is it possible to save Berengar during fight with Azar J. I tried couple of times but did not succeed

Even if he survives, which is almost imposible as you have to beat Azar in a few blows so he doesn't get to Berengar, the game doesn't change in anyway... It's even stated that Berengar remains in the lab chamber... The thing is if you killed him you can get his amulet but if Azar kills him you can't... so I asume that he's not dead by the wizard's attack and even made an escape after Geralt left.

Im through this game 2nd time and from what I noticed if you are nice guy and dont kill but save ppl you loose stuff . Like you just said , that amulet or in other instances mutagenic potions brewed from ingredients obtained from boss monsters like Werewolf - VIncent whom I let go . You got that better self feeling but it doesnt change that you weaker and poorer in terms of your abilities. Thx for answers cheers

well he came to give me a hand against Javed so I thought Ill try to get him through the fight . After 5th attempt I gave up though. Hes dead and I moved on

I saved him with but it was stupidly hard. I think the fight is designed so that he always dies. And nothing special happens if you save him, he just stands there idle doing nothing.

I actually just did this part last night, he died the first time. So i did it 2nd time and saved him.

As soon as that battle started i just spammed my igni attack and i think berengar struck him once. Azar was dead within a few seconds haha. I don't know if the game bugged out or what, because the first time i fought him he took a pounding.

But yeah, it didn't seem like it mattered. All he says after is "i needed time to think..." and that was that :p

This had been my 27th try at the boss while trying to save berengar and i can't believe the boss can be 1 hit KOd by Berengar!!
