The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

What's the average play through time?
Easy/Normal/Hard.

Critical path only/Some side quests/All quests

In info is appreciated!

I want to get through this quickly and move onto the TW2, but I'd like to do some of the side quests I guess. I started TW2 the other day in preparation of TW3 but then realised the error of my ways and thought I should really have started from TW.

Le Sigh..

A friend who played on normal and tried to do all the side quests ended at about 58 hours.
I´m in the middle of chapter 2 (of 5) and stand at 17 hours. So its a quite long game.
Witcher 2 ist far shorter ,around 25-30 hours. And Witcher 3 goes up to 150 - 200 hours if you do every side quest and hunt available.

I´ve just finished it doing almost everything in 36 hours. Playing on normal and doing as much quest and exploration as possible

I played this game twice and accrued 341hrs? Why rush...

I've just watched someone do a speed run in 30 mins. It was in German though so I couldn't see what quests he was doing or the choices he made. He blasted through the cut scenes (obviously), and literally run the critical path ignoring everything else.

I don't want to rush, I just want to enjoy the game, learn the lore and carry over a save to TW2.

Although, I must say I really don't like the combat system in TW compared to TW2, its horrible. Everything else is fine though.

I kind of like to take my time and smell the roses along the way. I read every note and learnt the characters & background. Granted the combat system was dated but I preferred it over the Witcher 2 which I have 2 playthroughs and 163 hrs?.

I almost finished it with medium difficulty at 44 hours time (gave up at the end, though, because I really can't get into this game; only thing I like is the plot). A playthrough with 20-30 side quests (like I did) at medium difficulty should take approximately 48-50 hours.
Maybe without side missions and in easy mode, you could manage to get through it 25-30 hours.

Whatever, do not expect this game to be anywhere near as a short one.

46 hrs, played on normal and did every sidequest

also witcher 1 is better than 2 imo so dont rush it

I never finished the 1st one but did love the experience, I just started it again. The second one however was pretty dull, but beautiful.

For the combat system there is a mod called Full Combat Rebalance. I cannot recommend it as I haven't tried it yet, but it claims to aim for realistic and more pleasing experience. It may be a good option if the vanilla system doesn't fit you.

took me ~27 hours to finish it... I liked the story, hated the combat, but enjoyed the playthrough. Did most of what I wanted to. I did use a walkthough because I didn't want to waste too much time as I had already played TW2 about 60% before I decided to go back to the TW1, and so I wanted to carry my save over to TW2 and get back into it again.

I haven't noticed much carried over though, other than the G'valchir.. is there anything else I should have noticed other than my actions from the first game (I mean items-wise).

I know I am late to this forum... but there are actually several books that you should read before even starting the first game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhsUpcSp6wA&t=15s
