Salamandra Base Crash Bug

When I go to fight the mage with the Salamandra troops. They never stop coming from behind, and when I confront the large group my game will crash. I attempted going in to windowed mode, and it didn't fix the problem. I also tried diverting them by going to the cave entrance, but since they respawn behind you it would still crash from them flooding in.

I read it being a reocurring bug, anyone have a fix for it? I was thinking going to adminstration mode and setting it to XP I am currently running on Vista.

I am also crashing at salamandra base. For me it happens when the fight with that big kikimora starts :( tried everything... almost lost hope to play this game again...

save at the first quiet moment available, take the stone on the right and while no enemies are around u use it on the rumble on the left.. i had the same issue but with this it was easily solved

I know this is an old thread, but I was running into the same problem here and found out it was because I was diving into the big battle without bringing in my troops first. You end up in an endless battle that eventually crashes your game.

If this is the problem you're having, you need to activate the portal on the left side of the cavern. If you have the power stone, you simply interact with the pile of rubble, a portal will open, and your assistance will arrive and help you with the battle. You should be able to progress with the story after that.

If you don't have the stone to activate the portal, there's a solitary wizard in the corner of the cavern. Kill him and he should have one somewhere.

yes i solved it. i was doing what u said already but sometimes it got crashes because of fps drop, so i fought far from other and that solved it. i think. im playing chapter 4 now

this game s*cks when so much NPCs fighting. now game crashes again while other mission. i think i will solve it with same way

I figured it out. With some maps, game has really low fps with high graphics. but my pc have to handle this. When game has low fps and gets one fps drop, game crashes. so i lowered settings to lowest and it solved

I am at the Salamandra Base and have killed the mage and when I start the fight before the portal it keeps chrashing. What do I need to do to fix this?

* Did you avtivate the portal before?

* Try to repair your installation:

* Go to Advanced Options -> Lighting -> low and try again.

Yeah, go further into cave, you can't open that portal. and even on the lowest quality it still crashes. Unplayable.
