Registration problems

I recently bought the witcher enhanced edition but i can't registrate the game because i cannot loggin with my the witcher account, it appears an internet explorer error saying that i cannot connect to the server.

Can someone help me ???

Did you buy a retail version? If so, the links on the opening screen no longer work. Go to the www.thewitcher.com and download the 1.4 patch and the language patch and install it. You should be able to play without registration.

It's been awhile ik. But do I need to install the 1.5 too? Or that ain't necessary?

Same question here. Bought the game on sale today and was super excited to play, then ran into this wall. I'm downloading the 1.4 patch now, but do I 1.5 instead/as well?

Yeah I bought it today off of Steam. Trying to figure out other ways to get it to run but doesn't look like I'll have much luck given I don't have access to program files on my laptop, meaning the game is in a custom directory and I can't install the patches to that dir.

It's not a retail copy if you got it on steam and will automatically update to the latest (steam) version

Hmm. If it isn't retail when bought from Steam but I'm asked to enter the purchase key (as if it was retail), then what's my issue here?? Any suggestions as to what to do? Subreddits to post on, etc?

Yeah it gives me a code to, but I never once had to use it, you can get the code from steam

Ahhhh you run it through the Steam client don't you? I don't have full control over my laptop so when a game asks for elevation to run I instead go to the .exe file in the Steam dir. Since I ran it through there instead of Steam that could be why it's defaulting to an older version. Oh well, guess that just means I can't run it until I get my own laptop :p

Doesn't work. Only other thing that I could run was the .exe for registering your game copy and since the game doesn't support that anymore it was a dead end.

Ah I see the issue, you can use a modified DLL to bypass steam DRM, this is technically against TOS and I won't explain how to do it here, you could also try and use GOG

Willing to explain how to do it on another platform? If you are I'm all ears, I'll give it a shot if it might help. I looked at GOG, it's ten times as much as it is currently on Steam, so that's a no. Worst comes to worst though I just wait until I have the money for my own laptop.
