Question about Polish voice acting.
Is it canon for the series? I know the devs are polish. It seems to fit lip sync better and the acting is better than the english one, if you can call that english one voice acting anyway.

Reason why i ask is that do the polish actors stay same through whole Witcher series? Currently i'm hopping between english and polish, because i am not sure about it. Honestly this english voice acting in this game is one of the worst things i heard ever since i started gaming back in -95

Thanks

Every VA for every language since The Witcher 1 has always been the same. Regarding the lip-sync, they animate everything individually for every language or sometimes, they mask it with "ohms" and "ahms" just like in anime.

Yeah,no. The german voice actors for example changed around quite a bit. Geralt has a different voice actor in 3 than in 1+2 and a lot of the side characters changed also over the years.
In the english dub Triss has a different voice actress for Witcher 2+3.

Well, the Hungarian voice acting is horrible too. Translation is worst ever that I met. After some hours playing in Hungarian language I had to change to english as many characters said nonsense things. So many lines just didn't make sense in the context.
I guess the original Polish would be the best, if we understood it.
And here's a note about importing save from The Witcher 1 -> 2:
"Note for Non-English versions
For owners with non-English (eg.:Hungarian) language settings. Before importing, create a new save file in the Ice Plains or the Order of the Flaming Rose Cloister levels using English language settings." - from The Witcher Wiki

What game have you people been playing? The VO work isn't bad at all really. The issue is the editing and the transition timing between lines. There's not enough time allowed between certain sentences and it makes it sound choppy and abrupt.

The only pieces that ever stood out in my mind as shaky were Dandelion, Leo and some of the generic cockney thugs and guards and honestly they were no worse than the standard Bioware bit roles in comparison.

Ya, didnt bother me either. the timing was wonky sometimes..but the acting itself was fine. but thats just my opinion. cheers.

I'm from Poland and I must say that polish voice acting in Witcher 1 is terrible.

I remember when I started Witcher 2 and I was pleasantly surprised how good voice acting became. It's even better in Witcher 3 than it was in The Assassins of Kings, but lipsync is sometimes weird. So in my opinion Witcher 2 and 3 are way better in terms of voice acting in comparison with first game, while there are the same actors in all roles.

For me "the golden era" of polish voice acting was during the time of Infinity Engine games, like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment. Since then only Neverwinter Nights 2, StarCraft 2, Diablo 3 and maybe Uncharted series have good qualiy. Everything else is just crappy dubbing and I prefere to play with english voices.
