Need cheat to beat beast
I'm sorry the beast is impossible to defeat. Maybe because the games mechanics suck. No matter how many potions I use or what I do I still get beaten to death in a heartbeat. I'm lost for words here. I need a cheat to beat this thing or I will pirate the Witcher 2 just to get back my money. By far the worse game I've ever played. I really wish I knew what the game was like. great story but dude, the combat is by far the worse ever. No matter what I do I just.....cant.....beat....beast. I consider myself a good gamer, smart and very tactical. I had a 5 min fight against him using a potion that was slowing things down. OMG, I lost my voice yelling at how horrble it was. He has taken only 10% damage.

btw, I saw a video on how to kill the beast. The guy ran around in circles the whole fight. Seriously, talk about a cheap mechanic to fight a boss.

[Solution] 20 minute fight

There is a small crevice between the fence and a small hut to the top left corner of the field. Use this to regenerate health or use potions. Neither the dogs nor Beast will be able to get to you as long as you stay in this opening. Do not worry about the villagers or Abigail, as the dogs will not attack them. If you have upgraded Ard Sign for STUN, it makes the fight a lot easier. Aim for Beast, and cast your Sign. If he is stunned, simply do an auto-attack and you will trigger a one-hit kill.

Dude, the blizzard potion was the worse thing u could ever do to face the Beast. Anyway, I got nothing against the combat engine, I think it's okay, I'm playing by the second time. Brace yourself, if you tought the Beast was tough, hahaha! Maybe you won't finish the game by the way you rage and complain.

Hi, my two cents : i try 8 or 10 times before i beat the beast, i use 2 potions (fasten reflex and fasten vitality regen) then the group fight style to clean the minions (first thing to do) and switch to quick fight style to beat de beast + the push rune (it works 50% of the time)

Here is my experience with the beast. Fight starts he's already in my face hitting me. (BS) I kill the dogs, take a hit on him before he freezes me and takes 50% of my HP. I run around using a potion that takes forever to regen my health. By that time the dogs are already spawned and killing the witch. Now I have to face the beast with 3-4 dogs again with 50% HP. I take out the dogs and face beast. He brings me down near death again with the stun BS. Again, I regen HP slower than a snail and I'm dead.

I tried the hiding behind the shack to regen my HP. I'm not going to sit here for one hour to beat this boss. It's not about how hard the fight is. It's about how poorly it was designed. Fanboys will always believe this was the greatest game and the engine is good. To me a long time gamer, this is piss poorly done. There are no mechanics to this fight. You either die or cheat. I've seen youtube videos on how to beat beast.

Here's what's funny. Everyone says take potions before the fight. How do you know you are entering the fight right away after the cutscene? That would be cheating if you knew about the fight after cutscene.

Just saw a video someone fighting beast in hard mode. Here is how the fight went.

*took a blizzard potion (the one you said is the worse thing to do)
*took out the dogs
*he attacks the beast hitting him 3 times in a row (not sure how that is possible becausae beast only allows you to hit him with two turns before he stuns you.
*beast stuns him brings him down to 25% HP and he runs away from him.
*pops a potion, kills two dogs and then attacks beast while he has less than 20% HP. (weird huh, takes a potion and attacks the beast with less than 20% hp. Doesnt make sense.)
*Runs away, goes back to kill a dog and beast stuns him with now under 30% HP.
*He starts running around with 5% HP.
*for the final he kept running around and killing the dogs and taking one hit on the beast and he defeated it.

By far the worse tactic, worse boss mechanics ever in a video game. I did the exact same thing he did but unfortunately, for me I just don't like the combat mechanics.

Remember, you can one hit almost anything if you use Aard. Its a small chance to actually stun The Beast. That is what i did though...

Here's how i did this fight. I just kept attacking the dogs and trying to stay alive using group style. Beast died on his own. That was really lame.

Now my map broke and it's not showing me the town just a full view and I have no clue what to do next lmfao this game man.

Specter Oil. Abigail sells it. Slap it on your blade for tons of damage.
BookerDewitt Apr 20, 2015 @ 2:08pm
That is the point of group style.. to damage all enemies within range.

The Spectral oil is your friend for this fight. I typicly buy it and carry it around with me most of the chapter just to make sure I have it. The normal bargest you don't need it for but the best you do. I put it on just before going into the caves or just before you leave them, basically the last moment before you enter that long set of cut scenes. I did have to speed through the cut scenes but since I had already watched them I knew what was going on and was able to my my decision fast. This is one of the hardest fights since you don't know it is coming at first and you have no prep time, and just the steel sword.

I loaded my saved game about 10 times now and I defeated beast 10/10.

Main strategy by priority

1. Keep Abigail alive (heals) very important
2. Kill dogs group style
3. Hit beast with no dogs around
4. continue killing dogs and beast dies on his own.

Seriously lame! You go into this fight thinking you are fighting beast you will die 10 out of 10 times because he's not the main fight the dogs are.

No offence, but I can't see any difficulties in that fight. Beat the game for 3 times. Some point to the steel fast style + swallow = easy fight. Optionally - stay near Abi and kill the dogs that attack her with group style. The Beast will be somewhere nearby and will get a bit dmg over time - and die sometime soon. If you pick the witch's side swallow potion + her healing abilities make you almost instantly healed, so that's not really a challenge. My guess is that you just didn't fully understand something about the game's mechanics. W1 is a really easy game compared to W2, by the way. W2 kicks your ass on hard+ difficulties. :)

Here's a ingame "cheat" for you, also called "knowing the game's mechanics".

The beast can be stunned, an charged upgraded Aard attack, from my experience, has around 75% chance to stun the beast, and you can kill stunned enemies with one hit.

So, you can end this fight in 5 seconds.

When I fought first time the Beast, I loaded the game a 3 - 5 times because I thought Abigail could not die or something else, so I tried to save her. When I figured out that was useless, I killed the Beast, I got no big problems doing that. Dude, you just can't say that a game is bad, only because you couldn't beat a boss. lol
Ankido Apr 20, 2015 @ 5:11pm
The boss has no difficulty. It's the stupid mechanics. Anyone who doesn't see how bad the combat mechanics are really haven't paid attention to games. I've been playing games all my life and I just can't wrap my hands around the mechanics. My strategy was to kill the dogs in group style and it killed beast. There is absolutely no challenge in this game just annoyance.

Example and not trying to compare games it's like apple and oranges. Shadow of mordor was good combat mechanics. Albeit the repetitiveness but it did require to be aware of your surroundings and adjust to survive. Games like this are just annoying. Having to click on a target to kill it. Sounds more like RTSRPG to me. I haven't played W2 and looking forward to 3. I just hope the mechanics are not the same as 1. Assassins creed, amazing combat. Which 2 and 3 are like that.
