The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Using a PS3 controller
I'm was hoping to use a PS3 controller with this game, with the DS3 Tool/Motion Joy gamepad tool, is that possible?

Just get an xbox 360 controller (or a wired PS3 controller if they have them...)

Will a wired on work without a program?

The game does not support pads so you will need a third party program to use it.

Yeah I tried this game briefly with an xbox one controller.. definitely not a game made for joystick! I wish CD projekt red had of finished their original port of the original witcher game to the 360 because the port would have probably been very controller friendly. I really enjoy playing this game with kb/m though.

With the motionjoy drivers installed and the 'better ds3' GUI .... the PS3 controller can do all the xbox controller can do but in some cases better and cheaper (I use a $2 bluetooth adapter and it suits my hands better). On linux my PS3 controller connects to my native bluetooth and works brilliantly for streaming games to my loungeroom on a cheap HP laptop with linux steam. Obviously also works great for linux games.

Connecting a PS3 controller with a cable removes the requirement for bluetooth but you are still better off with the motionjoy drivers for xbox controller emulation and better ds3 for managing the connection. The PS3 contoller once mapped under linux requires no additional drivers or software and out of the box is the best option for linux.

In saying all that, the witcher is not controller friendly.

oh dear god the DS3 is a horrible gaming controller. Now DS4 is a different story.. brilliant controller. and as usual xbox has just great controllers.
