Is the Excellent Leather Jacket worth buying?

I am at the end of chapter 3 with 10K gold. Will I be in need of large sum of gold in the later chapters? otherwise I may just buy that underwhelming armor just to spending something.

honestly I feel it depends on which difficulty you are playing on. On the easier difficulties its not a big deal other than to stop staring at the beginning armor, but there are only 3 armors in the game. The starting, this armor, and Raven's which involves a quest that spans chapter 4 and 5. There isn't much to spend gold on in chapter 4 and 5 honestly. The best swords are gotten In chapter 4 and 5. Refer to the list of steel and silver swords on witcher.wikia.com for more info on those if interested. I think the only good one to buy comes from the blacksmiths son in chapter 4 for 3000g. I think you will want between 600-800 gold to be safe when playing the last poker player because he can raise up to that much and if you don't have it you have to forfeit.
