Resolution help.
I did the min sys requirements fix and installed the texture fix but the maximum rez its giving me is 1440x900. I tried overriding the resolution in the regestry but it just changes it back when i start the game. how to I get 1920x1080?

I should also mention im on windows 8 so the directdraw regestry fix either does not exist or is moved. Edit: never mind, worked it out. and now I feel like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Could you explain the solution? It could help other people on this forum.

I had the minimum system requirements problem - I have Windows 8.1 with an NVIDIA card, and noticed lots of people in the other thread with that setup - and I was able to fix it by going into Control Panel -> NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Global Settings and changing my "Preferred Graphics Processor" from "Auto-select" to "High performance NVIDIA processor."

Good luck!

Do that:

SOLUTION:
This is what worked for me, running on a GTX 660 and Win 64-bit. You want to get the game running without the -dontforceminreqs option.

1. Run dxdiag
2. On the Display tab, look for DirectDraw Acceleration and Direct3D Acceleration. These should both be set to Enabled.
3. If not, you'll need to run regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\DirectDraw
4. Change EmulationOnly from 1 to 0.

Opening the game *without* -dontforceminreqs you should be able to change resolution / texture etc to whatever you like.
If all else fails and you can only run with -dontforceminreqs, there's a mod that'll allow high texture detail apparently:

Thank you bro. This is the only thing that worked for me since ditching my GTX460 a few years back. I can finally play in 1080p with everything cranked back up on my GTX970. You rock!
