any essential mods or fixes?

i want to try this game, but i hear it's pretty buggy? like i hear there's stuff like geralt's speed being randomly changed every time you reload a save. i'd prefer to keep the vanilla gameplay mostly intact, just fix really broken stuff

then use

Textures Settings Downgrade Fix only or if you want with aI upscale then main only.

the above fix some glitches and dont change game.

the dontforce just makes game run on max settings and prevents downscalling.
the texture settings fix , makes dontforce work correctly (since before it was glitched)


you should also add game exe to nvidia panel and limit fps to 60 or 120.
you can also optionally use dxvk.

if you dont use dxvk there is also 4 gb mod you can use.

make sure you install mods correctly , there is no script merger like in witcher 3 but you can use djnii! app to see errors logs in which case you usually know if mod is installed correctly or not.

no problem , forgot to mention this game is very old so some glitches cant be fixed like random crashing. (due to too old engine game uses.) but it should not be too bad.
leave like max 6 saves disable auto saves and do medium shadows , light low in game settings.

also dont except witcher 3 game-play its more like old rpg game style. I mean this is a game from 2007.

but if you enjoy these type of games you would be ok. (if not then dont force it)

anyway the original wheat texture is quite bad as well. so there is a replacement which I guess counts as fix as well. (use only 1 of wheat replacement mod.)

changes wheat to more realistic texture. (I put it myself but if you dont like that you can go with the darker wheat mod, anyway the original wheat is quite bad as well.

I wouldn't say any of these are essential, just nice to have. Game is 100% functional and playable on a modern machine. Still looks good.

Oh I'm sure it's playable vanilla, I just wanna fix the more egregious bugs. Stuff like Geralt's speed being randomized every time you load a save is *wild*.
