Once you finish the quests you can use guide to check if you missed Romance cards, that way you wont spoil yourself too much , and it gives you the excuse to walk around the location more.
If you want to make the game more comfortable but not to spoil the fun for yourself , then I recommend using those two mods.

It would give you:
An item which lets you meditate anywhere you like, even without a campfire.
An item which lets you see in the dark without using a Cat potion.
An item which lets you access your stash you can only access from the inn normally.
it makes it much more enjoyable because you can put all the items in the storage and no longer need to run all the way back to the inn , and with how many items , alchemy ingredients you get it gets really annoying when you run out of the space and have to run all the way back to the inn.

It improves the RAM used. (From 2 GB it would make it 4 GB) this would improve the loading of menus. and textures, and cut-scenes.

Makes the game look much more colourful.

Much better camera , and ability to play in 1 person view.
Those are the mods that make the game more enjoyable but not easier or different than original game.
Anyway I would recommend using all the mods in this Guide:

(Or at least all the bug - fixing mods)
Trust me if you are not playing this game with mods you would love the game much more with the mods. (and if you want the original graphics , you can go with the mods I mentioned + the bug fixing mods and it would make the game more stable.)
If you want to check how the game looks with all the mods with 2560 x 1440 resolution you can find the pictures I posted on Nexus ( my profile name is Warhiz24) (The pictures uploaded on December are the actual pictures showing the game with mods on PC, the few before that are low quality , potato laptop pictures with only few mods with 1440 x 900 resolution.)
I am currently replaying this game with mods and it looks so much better, and so far I had almost 0 crashes or errors/ issues in game. (I had one game crash in chapter 3 that fixed it self after loading.
I assume you are on early chapters if you ask about selling books so you can afford to play again with all the mods. (not doing a new game with mods might cause issues.)
So basically you can just throw away, burn, destroy, sell whatever to books after you read them?
