system requirements are met, it has somthing to do with me running win7 64bit. supposedly there is a patch that should automaticly download. pls halp

To get this to work on steam, open steam, right click on the witcher, click properties, click set launch options, put the -dontForceMinReqs there, click ok

Try this:
1. Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
2. Under the General tab click the Set launch options... button.
3. Type -dontForceMinReqs and click OK.
4. Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.

but then we are forced to play with super low res textures. Which makes it pretty much unplayable. I have had the game for over a year now and I still haven't gotten more than an hour into it because I can't bring myself to overlook the terrible low res textures that are forced upon anyone who has to use -dontForceMinReqs. I really wish you guys could/would do something to fix it.

when you do the don't force min reqs you will always be on lowest settings. The Witcher is a very demanding game on CPU or GPU or both. I have then same thing.

I can play farcry 3 and arkham city etc etc, so that's not it. We aren't talking about using -dontForceMinReqs because we don't meet the min reqs, it's because their game is not optimized to run on 64 bit systems or something. Honestly, they just need to fix it. It would be one thing if we were talking about running it on a system below the suggested specs, but that isn't the issue.

I do have Windows 7 64x and the game is running fine without any adjustments.
Have AMD A10-5700 APU with PowerColor HD 6870 pcs+, 2x 4GB RAM, Catalyst 13.12

I think some people seem to have this issue due to integrated graphics, (don't start the integrated hate rant, we've all heard it....so shut up)...either way it's rediculous, no other game I have ever seen refuses to let you launch or limits the texture level to minimum, they just run like ♥♥♥♥ if you have low system specs. Why can't this game do that?

I set the Launch Options to -dontForceMinReqs. Now it craches when it launches. I can see the pointer, nothing else.
