The old lady in Shani's house

Any way to kill her? I'm tired of dealing with her ♥♥♥♥ every time I need to see Shani for a quest.

Just re-enter shani house until she will say something about cold winter bla bla. Then there will be an gift icon or option "I don't know" choose "I don't know" and she will walk away.

after a particular scene Shani, and you go downstairs. talk to the grandma and the bottom option will cause her to have a heart attact.

A few options to get to Shani (the only way to kill the hag is the one Hypnotoad mentioned):
1) Being nice with her does not help. When she tells Geralt he's old, grey, and still chasing skirts, respond with the same line. That will get you through.
2) If you can give her gloves when she complains about the cold, that works too. Don't show up drunk, that's an immediate no.
3) Wait till she asks if Geralt is from the hospital, then play along.

I know it's a very old thread, but since it's what popping up when googling the subject I figured I'd answer here. If anyone else ends up googling the same.

I found that the Prophet Lebioda's signet ring is the best approach. You get it by having a drinking contest with Thaler (9 drinks) then you give it to bootblack. If you equip this ring you'll be able to enter the house without problems.

Even after all this time it's good to learn something new about the game.

I just wait till I get the bribe option in chat with her and if you give her something like 50 orens you won't have to worry about her again blocking you.

from what i remember playing of the scene i kinda liked the old woman playing the battleaxe. if she is sharp as the axe should be and her attack is just as stinging then her character is playing the role nicely.

Yes but you can't do anything like clock her with the handle or push her out of the way. Shani arguably would understand. There's no option to call her down and deal with the granny. When you see her outside she doesn't make arrangements to meet you and escort you inside the house. That's why the sidtuation is irritating because Geralt should be able to sneak in since the old woman should rest sometimes. Basically anything. Instead you have to spam the dialogue.

the old woman is like a highwayman, she will rob you blind in conversation but the price is worth paying to get to Shani during the nights :P

Hey I liked it but it became frustrating with the denial of other methods. I had to reload too much. It's a great scene and mechanic don't get me wrong. I think there sholud be more alternatives. The same with attacking guards, a few more alternatives would be nice instead of everyone attacks all the time and they are somehow way better than you despite being only guards. You should be able to beat the guards who talk down to you etc.

I somehow got to bribe her 150 orens, and now she calls me a prince. And no more problems to get into the house.

It took me a whole bunch of attempts yesterday to get on her good graces. Eventually, in one of the encounters she mentioned she'd like a pair of golden gloves. I bought a pair from the peddler, then of course Grandma didn't offer me the same line for another 5-6 attempts, but when finally she mentioned the gloves again, I gave them to her and got in her good graces. Now I just hope she remains like this until I advance my meetings with Shani.
