Fighting a plant

The Witcher is an incredible game if you ask me. I've slain hundreds of bandits and having lots of fun. I then decided to go into the swamp where Gramps asked me to help him get to a shrine. I thought, sure why not. I can kill 20 bandits at a time (Ramsmeat) so I'm certain I'll survive walking this old man through a swamp with a bunch of drowners.
Suddenly a plant pops up very similar to ones from Chapter 1 so I thought, let's kill this thing, but it's an absolute monster. A single plant is more powerful than an entire army of bandits.

How can I possibly kill this behemoth of a plant?

They do not heal, so you can attack, strike the plant a few times and run away, but far enough not to get hit, because it has ranged attack. Wait for your potion to heal you and go back until it's dead.

If you have Igni upgraded to ranged attack and a decent incinerate rate you can blast them with fire balls from a safe distance, That is how I dealt with them.

I just avoided those plants on the way to gramps house and went back to the city to level up so I could prepare myself better for the swamp later. But otherwise use fire like these other people said or attack it up close with a strong attack like I do.

The plants in the swamp seem to be stronger than in the first part of the game. I just ran away and old gramps did follow.

Thanks, I thought you had to take Gramps over the path itself instead of around it through the water. What I've been doing so far is basically finish every other quest available to level up.

There is only 1 plant, but it follows you till you kill it. Just watch where it spawns, get potions, kill it and get 400 orens reward from Vincent. Btw... you killed Ramsmeat? that sucks.. he was the "good guy". you get tricked.

Yeah, I made another mistake during the whole investigation (I think).
Right now I have to set a trap for Kalkstein although I don't think he did something wrong.

Is there some way to restart from the beginning of Chapter 2?

Go back to an old save point?

Explore the cemetary if you haven't already. Or just don't worry about it, the game will allow you to proceed.

How can I get into the cemetary? Neither Thaler or Meis are willing to give me a pass to enter. Do I have to enter the tower first?
