Game beaking glitch in chapter 2
So, I got the quest "The Sentry", got the lightning rod, went to the swamp (it was raining, so i ignored the quest telling me to talk to the druids and went straight to the golem), only to find that when my inventory opened up the lightning rod wasnt there! I went back to Vizima, thinking i did something wrong and talking to Kalkstein or the Order Armorer (the one i got the lightning rod from) would fix it. Upon talking ro the Order Armorer, however, i notice the rod in my inventory. Thinking it's fixed, i go back to the swamp... only for it to disappear and be replaced by the tarot card again. I'll try reloading an ealier save, even though i already did it once with no change, but hopefully this wont make me restart the game all over again...

This sounds incredible; so let's exclude unforced errors first: Do you know that your quest inventory is scrollable?
Drol Nogard 26 ENE 2016 a las 4:14 p. m.
Yes, I know that. Did you know that the tarot card is removed and replaced by the rod, and therefore shouldnt be present in the inventory at all after getting the rod?

Fine. I had to ask this anyway: You wouldn't have been the first who made this mistake.

No, I didn't know. How should I? From 2008 to 2016 I played TW1 more than 10 x on three different computers, and it happened always the same:

So my proposal: Upload a savegame with the following conditions: Geralt still in temple district with the rod in his quest inventory, and give me the link. I'll try if your save shows the same behaviour on my computer.

Btw.: Geralt isn't looking for rain, but for a thunderstorm (-> electricity!!!),

Well, yes, but you dont have to pay the druids 500 orens if it's already raining, just put the rod on the golem and continue to the fight.

Two problems: One, i dont know where to find my saves for the game in the first place, and two, how and where would i upload it?

Oh, and just to make sure that the quest was still bugged on my end, after i saved, i went to the swamp, and immediately opened my inventory, to see the rod missing, and the tarot card in it's place. Shouldn't have any effect on the save, but so far it's impossible for me to get past this bug. I have two save files, excluding thie one i did after getting the rod, one which has Geralt in chapter IV, which somehow got corrupted and crashes the game anytime I load it, and a save in the swamp after i had to restart the game, before i even go talk to Vaska to collect the tarot card and start the Sentry quest, so unless you know how to fix the corrupted save, or can give me a solution for as to how to stop the quest from breaking, I'm going to have to restart the whole game, again.

Under these conditions: Yes.

Your save would be found in "C:\Users\-- Username --\Documents\The Witcher\saves", and you could try uploading it to Mega. - https://mega.nz

Oi, just change your inventory with TWEditor if there's no other way for f*ck's sake, and stop bragging. Bid you a good day, mate!

I fail to see how I was bragging, it was more like complaining. Anyway, do you think that perhaps that editor could fix the corrupted save?

Corrupted you say? If by corrupted you mean the inventory mishap you're having, then yes, it shall fix it. Since you get to add/remove any inventory item your heart desires (quest items as well). Requires Java, however.

No, unfortunately, when i say corrupted, i mean loading the save instantly crashes the game. It was mentioned that i had a save from chapter IV that i couldnt use because of that.

Very sorry to hear that. I was relating to the OP and had no idea what your current position was as of now.
Well, the game constantly autosaves the progress and a suggestion to load a previous save would probably make you mad, since it might have been suggested over 9000 times already. Regardless, try messing around with your save in TWEditor, get to know it better, might actually help you understand what went wrong.
After 15 hours of gameplay, I'm only finished with the Chapter 2 (been doing every single sidequest, a game of dice here and there). I've always hit the quick-save button before a major decision was to be made, and with all these autosaves my save folder is around 1.5gb by now (which might also slow down / crash the game). Getting rid of the save files you don't need could also help, nevertheless.

Unfortunately, the editor is refusing to work for me...

Be sure to have the latest version of Java installed
