GAME BREAKING bug raymond can't progress act 2

i have done every quest in the game everyone was found innocent before autopsy or graveyard quest.. i hadn't even gone into the graveyard.. i just found them innocent dialog w/e believed them.. i thought it strange that i all of a sudden knew raymond was ajar without even finding the body or anything.. but i continued.. finished up all the quests.. at some point a boy came to me saying raymond wanted to meet.. after i did every quest everywhere.. i went in to talk to him..

you won't believe what i found out.. geralt asks what.. he said i had to pay him 200 orens..

HERE IS THE BUG:

there is NO OPTION TO PAY HIM ONLY MEDITATION and SEE YOU LATER..

so what that ♥♥♥♥ am i supposed to do now? i played 30 hrs or 40 in my first playthrough but didn't like some choices i made i chose to play again.. it is like 70 hrs and i'm finally at this point..

WHAT THAT HELL!?? I was only playing this game to start witcher 2 and then 3.. for save transfer..

i am completely stuck and every quest is fully progressed.. nothing left to do.. i can't get the autopsy quest.. he is just stuck and now i am going to have to play a 3rd ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time..

what kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is this?

used cheat engine when in outskirts and gave myself a bunch of money.. wanted to buy all those books lol.. but yeah.. i had a lot more but got drunk and robbed a few times lol.. and i think the prison guard stole some money as i had less after when i got my equipment from the chest or so i recall

but yeah.. i have 39000-42000 .. i'd have to double check.. definitely a hell of a lot more then 200 orens

that is the only cheat i ever use in an rpg.. give myself money..

also i'd just turned in half a dozen quests and got a bunch of orens from that as well.

i guess this is the fix for it.. i dunno.. i'll have to read that through another day.. i'm going to bed..

good to know this isn't just me who has this though.. i found a thread with 10 pages of people commenting about this as well..

"There's a bug in Chapter 2 of The Witcher that makes the game potentially unfinishable. After you hire Raymond to investigate Salamandra for you, after several further interactions with Raymond, the game progresses to the point where a little boy comes to find you and asks you to go see Raymond. You can break the game if you DON'T go see him then. If you find Raymond's body in the crypt BEFORE you go see Raymond after the little boy comes to get you, then you're stuck."

not quite my issue there.. cause i didn't go into the crypt and find his body and i still had him not allowing me to pay.. BUT .. i didn't go see him right after the boy talked to me.. i progressed for a while doing other quests..

I thought you said that you didn't even go in the cemetary or find the body? I have my doubts that's is the issue.

Since you mentioned you cheated for money, I wouldn't be surprised if this is an issue related to Bioware's Aurora Engine. The same bug was present in Knights of the Old Republic which used the Odyssey Engine where if you used the cheat multiple times, the game became confused and regardless of the amount of money shown in the inventory it would register as zero when trying to use it.

huh? i didn't go to the cemetary to find the body or do autopsy.. but it was bug so.. then i loaded a save just a little bit before cause i noticed the gravedigger had a new dialog option that would give steps to allow me going into the cemetary.. so i figured i'd try that.. i went into the cemetary and found the body but he still wouldn't give me the option to pay or progress beyond the meeting.. just meditate and see you later

as for the money.. people had this issue without doing that.. it is even listed on the wiki with regard to the body side of it and the quest becoming broken

also i'd been playing fine since i did used the cheat engine since begining of outskirts.. buying selling etc.. only used that one time.. so yeah.. not taking the engine into the equation.. as the bug exists regardless

tons of people have that issue.. but haven't cheated

"Hi. I've cleared everybody and I found the real Raymond in the crypt. I've talked to the boy who tells me to see Raymond, when i spoke to him he asked for 200g which I declined because I wanted to finish Shani's Party.When I returned to Raymond he just says "Yes?". The quest seems to be stuck at "The Meeting" where it tells me to go see Raymond. I havent done any autopsy and there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to start that quest either...Anybody know what I could do to fix this"

I had this happen * maybe that is the bug that recked it for me.. hmm
