Witcher 1 : Not working

So I ran The Witcher (1) on my laptop and for some reason the cursor disappears. Any suggestions ????

My Witch wont let me load or save games, as much as i like to binge witcher for a few days and nights, i can do that in reallity. any time i hit oad or save game it crashes. any suggestionsss????

What are you specifications?

no mods, no edits, running on windows 10 i believe, and a few months ago i had this before where i would click load or new game and it would crash so i deleted it entirly from my lab tob and just recently redownloaded it again from scratch other than that no specifications of any type. the only thing that looks diffrent is that the cutscences/dialoge with other charecters seem to zoom in more than last time i remember but other than that, nothing seems diffrent.

I will give your hold shift a try and see if anything happens.

Try running it in Windows 7 Compatiblity mode, older games don't work well on Windows 10

Try running it in Windows 7 Compatiblity mode, older games don't work well on Windows 10

tried it, same result. the only diffrence from now and last time is that i could not even start a new game, now its just when i save and load. maybe i should erase the files from my computer again and download again from my library, maybe that might improve it, cause i check file integrety and uninstalled it and did the windows 7. if there are any other options i will gladly have them.

I don't use Windows 10 but basic options are running it as admin, in compatibility mode and some other tweaks, try googling for "Witcher Windows 10" or if that doesn't help "Witcher Enhanced Edition Windows 10"

Try game in windowed mode. Its in Witcher game settings.
Compatibility mode didnt work for me. Game also doesnt work if Windows Defender or your antivirus is blocking User folder for updation, required only for first time. In Defender, there is AntiRansomware settings for blocking access to user folders.
