I can't beat Barghest Boss

I don't have swallow or any potions, just have the necrophage oil (is it make difference for barghest?). I've tried to stay close with Abigail, but she just keep dying. Can i just skip it? :'(

Make a swallow potion then , use aard to knock down the beast , group style for small dogs and fast style for the boss (Or just go strong style if you invested a lot in it)

There is some stone that gives signs intensity +100 that you can use if in trouble.

The oil you have is useless for specter

Make sure you target the boss instead of small minions ,

I didin't know he was weak to aard and I didin't use any signs and still won with 1 hp by just using swallow potion on normal difficulty

If you've been leveling up Aard a good charged hit will stun him and the fight will b over in seconds.

be sure to use the campfires in the cave to skip ahead time to about 1-2 hours before to midnight, then take your potions (can make some during the meditation) and leave the cave to the villager mob/boss fight scene. the fights pretty chaotic, you likely wont have time to chug potions once you enter, especially on hard diff.
aard can topple the hellhound allowing for an easy kill, without a boost from a place of power the chance for a knockdown isnt too great tho
if you have the buzz perk from the strength tree, you could go into the fight drunk to gain immunity to the bosses pain effect (which can easily stunlock you to death, happened to me a few times). this will massively reduce blocking and dodging chance however
the boss counts as spectral enemy, so use specter oil to double your damage, abigail sells some if you dont know the recipe/dont got the ingredients/formular
finally, use group style to not just hit the boss but also sweep up his summons while you're at it.

Hello, I struggled with this too but I finally beat it by running around a lot to make sure my vitality/endurance is filling back up. Then I struck the boss with the aard button whenever I stopped in middle to do that. Eventually he died, don't worry if it takes you some tries! You can do it, hope you succeed

giving short answer: use Aard when he will be damaged on half health or even less and then just finish him when he will lay on the ground
