"Save game file is missing or corrupt" when trying to access Temple Quarter in Act III
As I did not find such a solution for this online, I will post it here so anyone who has similar problems may ease the pain.

It turns out that if you are using mods, it is possible to have a problem with accessing specific maps with the message "Save game file is missing or corrupt." during the map load screen.

It happened in Act III when I could not get to Temple Quarter and Dike from Cemetery, Trade Quarter and Swamps. The solution was relatively straightforward - remove all mods using Vortex's "Purge Mods" feature. Entering the problematic map, saving and then getting mods back using "Deploy mods" in Vortex.

You will not have to load the earlier savegame and lose progress in this case.

Just curious, what mods were you using? And have you checked if you have duplicate files?

"The witcher best experience loreplay" pack and 1 or 2 additionally installed mods (don't remember which ones though).

Did not check for duplicates, but if there is a viable solution you know about, post it here for those who'll suffer from the issue

I only know that if you have multiple mods , you would almost always have duplicate files that would mess up with your game , At the beginning I had the issue with the mods not loading at all and then I realised I had duplicate files for textures, deleting old files solved my issue. (Finished the game and had no issues other than 4 crashes)
(I used about 65 mods)

Did you ever fix that ? I'm having the exact same problem right now

this is quite old post , but to answer your question , first check if as I said before , is the issue duplicate files or not?

to do that :

go to C:\Steam Folder\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System

find djinni!.exe

and run it (or in steam when running game select adventure editor.)

then click run game in that app.

then load a save , and look left , it will show you all errors game has according to engine.

then if you see more than 5 or see any "could not load" or "duplicate" or "could not find" then the issue is duplicate file that you need to manually delete.

you can copy paste the name of error file into search near

C:\Steam Folder\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition

and then delete the older or file with less size or file with wrong directory (this would be duplicate)

repeat this until you see no error or max 5, then load save, overwrite save and it should fix it.

if not it will prevent the issue from ever happening in future.

or you can delete all mods by simply deleting Overwrite folder or following files you installed from download history on nexus or your pc.

if you need more help you can contact me on private.
