No, this isn't right, OCC. If you get the new (excellent) silversword from the Lady of the Lake, it will be exchanged for your old one. You will recover it in the lake when you return, but you can't pick it up without loosing the new one.
And this isn't easy. As far as I remember it's impossible; Geralt has to own one silversword. So if you want to keep it you have to exchange it for a cheap silversword before you are able to store it. But you will see: It isn't worth while.
Don't worry about it. Geralt will be the lucky owner of a formidable silversword and should write off the old one.
Ah ok, good to know. And yeah, I'm definitely taking the new one, it's just I was scared of losing the opportunity to get it if I had the old one or not.
