How hard this game is?
I don't play full scaled RPGs usually. And who knows what to expect from "euro jank"

I've played through it just once on normal, but only struggled a bit with like 3 or 4 fights in the entire game. It's really easy.

There are three difficulty settings you can choose from, though if you're used to modern gaming and only play modern games, you may not like this all that much although I'll raise a glass in the hopes you change your mind.

Just put it on Normal. I only play it on Hard but I'm an alchemist geek which makes Geralt op due to all of the buffs.

You can regulate the difficulty in the start of the game.

The hardest setting isn't terribly hard if you carry a few potions and use them before a tough fight. F5 is quicksave and F9 is load. The hardest fights so far have been some plant beasties that can't chase you. The Swamp has a named one with a bounty on it you should kill first before talking to anyone, it makes the zone a lot easier since it spawns around you. It's likely the hardest fight I've run into so far and caused me to come back to that zone later once I had more points in fire sign (which gets quite strong with the silver point you can get early from a mutagen potion made from boss parts yuck)

Witcher 1 is odd in that the hardest fight is the end of Act 1 with the beast. Just keep spamming Aard and if you get the knockout effect, go for the coup de grace. The endgame is a cakewalk in comparison.

(Arguably) hardest fight is the Kikimore Queen in (I believe) Act III. Other than that it's not too bad on Normal difficulty. Just make sure you properly learn potions, paying particular attention to the secondary substances for better outcomes upon consumption. Also, DON'T BUY GEAR, you'll get better swords and gear through the game.

Where do you find armour laying around? I haven't picked up any.

You don't. There's one you can buy from blacksmiths early on. The other one is obtained through the quest 'armour' near the end of the game, and requires you to find a bunch of items in both chapter 4 and 5.

I think, it's easy. During a few fights I had a hard time, but usually Igni is a great help. It's old game, but still magical. :)

Oh wait! It has been so long since I actually finished (I keep starting over), I had forgotten about the Raven armour is it? Yeah cool.
Thanks!

I tend to agree the fight with the Beast is pretty hard. Especially because it seems near impossible to have potion effects going due to cut scenes.

It's possible, Sci-Fi Geek.

1. The fight will begin at 0.00 - no matter when Geralt arrives in the cave. So potions and oils may expire if applied too early.
2. He meditates in the cave until 23 h. Geralt consumes swallow and tawny owl and applies spectre oil. Now he is well prepared for the fight.

Will give it a try next run through, thanks!
